HAM RADIO WITHOUT THE RADIO - VE3WI Dave - 2022-02-11 Just became aware of "hamsphere", a clever simulation of ham radio over the internet using VOIP. Runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android. Not actually ham radio so no licence is required. A subscription costs about $45/year for the basic software transceiver, and there is a catalog of (software) accessories which have a one time fee. https://www.hamsphere.com/ I'll probably stick to emitting RF though :-) 73 Dave, VE3WI RE: HAM RADIO WITHOUT THE RADIO - Rob_Walker - 2022-02-11 Sounds like a winner for someone living in Zuckerburg's Metaverse RE: HAM RADIO WITHOUT THE RADIO - Richard VE3OZW - 2022-02-12 I tried Hamsphere last year, but didn't like it. It would be a good option for hams that can't set up a radio in their apartment etc. I prefer the RF route. |
