Wartime Radio The Secret Listeners BBC (1979)

Illustrated with archival film and photographs, as well as interviews with those involved, the documentary traces the evolution of civilian involvement in radio-based intelligence during both world wars.

Really good video!  I really liked all the first-person stories.  Also the WW1 stories were all new to me and very interesting.  Thanks for posting it.

A very good overall history book about British covert communications in WW2 is "The Secret Wireless War" by Geoffrey Pidgeon.  He and his father both worked in MI6 Sect. VIII, where much of the covert radio gear was designed and built.  $30 at amazon.ca
