This website outlines the use of winlink and radio hardware to provide a portable, self contained emergency communication solution for radio clubs and ACS organizations. It seems that we do not need to re-invent the wheel every time an event or emergency test comes up as this has been envisioned and thought about by others. I encourage the club to consider this. We already have most of the hardware to build a VHF Gateway and HF forwarding station. Imagine how easy it would be to explain this to municipalities and other organizations. Food for thought.
